I am from Florida (sorry EG) and I caught this really cool auction for Panther tickets ~ it was posted by a newbie with one FB (as a buyer). AWESOME seats, no reserve, low starting bid. I tend to list my goodies the same way to keep fees down. Although I DO read (sorry again EG), I also know that newbies can have some problems with writing their auctions. Yes, it did say, "Do Not Bid, e-mail me". Okay, so I bid. So did two others. Well whaddayaknow I won. Yippee! After not hearing from him, I sent him an e-mail about three days later and he responded with "sorry for any misunderstanding" and a link to his auction explaining that they were being sold for face value. Of course, I replied saying that I didn't know his post was a classified ad ~ dopey me, I thought eBay was an auction site. Well, no, I wasn't really that rude. He relisted the tix the same way so, being a responsible eBay citizen (and disappointed Panther fan) I notified SH about his fee avoidance. He got an explanatory e-mail/warning and his auction was pulled. Soooo ~ are we done? Should I leave feedback? If so, what kind? Did he just make an innocent newbie mistake or will we hear from this guy in another sort of scam? please advise......thanks so much

chepistar ... leave him a negative.
This was NOT a newbie mistake, it was a ticket scalper who knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He was using eBay as a cheap, national classified ad for a fixed-price sale. Innocent newbies do not relist the same tickets in the same way.

Well, Cheapster (and yes, I will from now on call you that.. LOL) The auction DID say not to bid, didn't it? didn't it? didn't it?? Can't you read??
(LOL!! Just kidding with you!)
You certainly would be within your rights to NEG this guy.. but you might get a retaliation in return. You also don't know if this was REALLY a newbie, or someone who just made a real quick second ID to "sell" these tickets.
I personally would never bid from anyone with such a low feedback rating. If the deal sounds too good to be true - it probably is!

Yes, I read it. I also "read into it". and I knew it sounded too good to be true ~ his starving dental student story and all. We believe what we want to believe when we really really really want something (kind of like believing in Santa). Besides, he said he takes PayPal .
