Connie an antique dealer was almost cheated out of a $13,500 Rolex watch.
She was using the escrow service. The buyer had requested she end the auction early which she did. Received an email from the escrow company stating the buyer sent the money.
Turns out the cc was stolen. She was able to stop the shipment and the officials caught the guy at FED EX by using a decoy box, letting the buyer think he was receivng the Rolex watch.

She was fortunate. I am so glad for her!...
One more good example why sellers should not end an auction just because asked to!

I did see it....And must say it was nice to see an eBay scam story that didn't involve a seller tryin' to rip someone off....

"Be careful out there" Hill Street Blues
However with Checks or CCs there is no way to be careful. A chargeback or bounced check can come at most anytime. If you accept those payments it is a cost of doing business that you accept. Although it is possible to get counterfit money or money orders it is highly unlikely. That is the reason many do not accept the first two. Good luck all.
