I was just curious if anyone else ever gets that uncomfortable gut feeling that a particular bidder will be trouble. That happened to me recently when I had a bidder who started off as late in getting in touch with me regarding his bid, then was late in getting payment to me, then contacted me that item had arrived damaged. I have sold identical item to other bidders and never had a problem until now. I understand that items can get damaged even though I do pkg all my items very carefully. I offered refund or replacement but in all honesty am very reluctant to replace item since the same thing could happen again. Has anyone else ever experienced this gut feeling and was it a self-fulfilled prophecy.

Yes!

Thankfully we don't get too many of them.

Funny thing is, pretty much every one that I had mixed feelings about as the transaction began ended up being very good.

The bad ones usually blindside me...go figure!

And I would like to reiterate...thank good ness there aren't that many of them!

Yes, I am exceedingly grateful that this sorta thing doesn't happen often, but am always amazed that when I do suspect trouble lurking in the wings, I am right.

sharkbaby: Yes, that too has happened to me on more than one occasion where I had my doubts about a particular bidder, and thank goodness, they came through.

I usually pride myself on having a great BS meter but to be honest, on Ebay, it's always the ones I DIDN'T expect. For example, I've sold several high-priced (for me) luxury items which I half expected to result in buyer's remorse and/or slow pay....nope, those buyers had their checks in the mail/paypal in the in-box within hours....all of my deadbeats/irritating buyers have been over 3 to 15 dollar items.

Why is it that someone will buy something for 50 and not blink at 7 dollars for (actual) shipping, but then another person will wig out over paying 1.75 book rate mail for a 12 dollar book? It's approximately the same percentage of the cost, so...???

I think some people just think that fussing over things means they're sensitive and discerning. NOT!! psssst:::whispers::: it means your a pain in the booty

I have that uncomfortable feeling right now actually. Back in November I had a bidder who bid on about $90 worth of my widgets (all of my items are $4-24)

WOO-HOO!! I thought (then)

I packed it up and shipped no sweat

2 weeks later I get an order of my website from this same bidder

WOO-HOO!! REPEAT CUSTOMER!! I thought (then)

A week later I noticed they hadnt left feedback for me they were obviously happy since they came back and bought off my website........then I checked their feedback for the date I made mine.......This person had a feedback rating now of 24 NEGATIVE 6 positives and 30 NEGATIVES!!

This person had scammed all these people for WELL OVER $6,300 of computers, digital cameras, scanners etc etc....they put up for sale, collected the money (paypal and money orders) and never sent. They paid me with money they stole from other people.

Now every other day I am getting emails from this person claiming they never recieved the website order (worth $22.00) and they have the F***ING NERVE to even try to claim that I am trying to scam them when I sent it and their auction purchase obviously arrived. They also claim they will take legal action against me lol
