A very dear friend of mine just lost everything on her hard drive, and is in need of clip art. I'm not into it, so I have no idea what's good. She's new to computers, so is clueless...
I'd really appreciate any help you could give, and I'll pass it on. Thanks.....

"good" is in the eye of the beholder, when it comes to clipart. What some people consider good, I don't necessarily like. Others consider stock photos as "clipart" and might consider that good. Now might be a good time to teach your friend how to do a search:
free+clip+art
over at any of the search engines turns up some of the bigger names when it comes to clipart. This way she has the chance to learn to search and find her own definition of "good clipart"

Well, my personal opinion that no clip art is "good clip art" aside...
I've found that a search for "free clip art" will yield lots of sites, but they all seem to be composed of links to other sites... which are composed of links to other sites... which are composed of, well, you get the idea.
A good alternative might be to buy a clip art and/or clip art and stock photo software package. There are tons listed on eBay, at very reasonable prices.

Thanks for taking the time, RainyBear & rosiebud...
I didn't think of teaching her how to search...duh. I don't like clip art either, so I don't want to attempt doing it for her...that's for sure. I'll just go turn that woman loose on the engines... I hope she's figured out what crashed her hard drive......

I appreciate good clipart and the people who take the time to make it available. One of the best sites I have ever come across is 'tudogs' http://www.tudogs.com
Most of the clipart sites are reviewed so you have a good idea what ones would be of interest. All the sites are rated and only the best are posted here. There's lots of other good stuff here, too, along with the clipart.

Of course it depends on what she is looking for... but I've found several things at www.arttoday.com
It requires registration, and has a three-tiered access plan. There are almost 100,000 items available to Free memberships, but the download hours are limited to evenings and weekends. Standard memberships have access to almost 250,000 items (no access limitations), and Professional memberships get even more stuff.

The website http://www.hitbox.com has a section for free clip art and free fonts. I've used both and they are good.
