Wanna good laugh?

Well, I've been packing/shipping/emailing all day, and I've been doing my best to leave feedback as I go. I just realized that the cut & paste feedback I left for a couple of my customers does NOT say what I intended it to say!! Instead of being the well-deserved praise my customers deserve, the feedback says something like "ebay item number xxxxxxxxxx item yyyyyyyy", accidently cut & paste from an email I'd written. AAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!

Of course I emailed them all apologizing, but I wish there was some way to fix this!! Why oh why doesn't Ebay let you change your feedback afterwards?

Moral of the story: beware cut & paste feedback, particularly when trying to do a bunch of things at once after having stayed up all night watchlisting items to snipe later!!

CAgrrl...I do the "wrong paste" thing about once a week, albeit not in feedback, but it does happen!

You can fix it, kinda....if your buyers respond to the feedback you left, you will be able to respond to that & at that time you could leave the correct feedback....You could even explain to your buyers how to do it & give them something to put in their response...Something like "Seller err'd on feedback, fixed in response"...

Sounds like something I would do However, (and it's a big however...) this problem has been solved since I started using Vrane's wonderful feedback tool and bid sniping software. At least it has been solved until I dream up something else of a similar nature to do! Hope your buyers were understanding.

I did something similar once - I was "cut & paste"-ing and either my computer or ebay screwed up my formatting and changed all of my ! to ?, therefore, the general idea was "fast payer?" "great ebayer?", ect, ect. The hardest thing about it was that it happened to quite a few newbies, and I got some interesting emails afterwards saying, "What did I do wrong!!!" Now I just uae auto complete and let the computer fill it in for me!

I've left my share of mistakes in feedbacks also - that's the worst, because you can't fix it! (But if you have your customers respond to their feedbacks you can always leave a follow up POSITIVE remark!)

When I go to enter my feedback, I just have to type in the first letter and the rest of the feedback fills itself it.

For example, a feedback I use a lot starts with "Prompt payment..". Well sometimes my fingers work faster than my brain and I type in the "P" and hit enter before it fills in and all that's left in my customer's feedback is "P". Ugggghhhh.. hate when that happens!!

LOL kckckc!! that's pretty funny!!

Well you guys I'm certainly glad to hear that I'm not the only one, but I'm still embarrassed.

If I hear back from any of them about it I will be sure to tell them to respond so I can respond back! I hadn't thought of that so thanks for the tip!

p?

LOL!!!

I always do all my feedbacks from here.It seems to make things easier for me anyway:

Great tool for that purpose.

OK, now how do I reply to their replies? One of my customers just emailed me to tell me she responded to her feedback and I can't figure out how to do it. I see the link to respond to comments in my own FB profile but I can't figure out how to respond to the comments in hers. Please help me if you've responded before! Thanks!

I know only too well the embarrassment of using cut/paste when you didn't intend to. I was in a chatroom once and accidentally cut/pasted my entire resume for God and everyone else to view. That was one chatroom I didn't want to have my resume that included my name/addy/phone.

Hi CAgrrl,
Log into myEbay and click on the "recent feedback" tab. Near the bottom you will see "See all feedback I have left about others" - click on this.
You will see where your bidder has responded and there will be a little envelope thingy next to it. Click on it and you can type a response.
Good luck!!!
