Hi all I have a situation that I believe to be a "set up" and would like your opinions and help with.
I had an auction end yesterday with a BIN (which was unusal because I don't normally use that feature), anyhow it was for a clothing item of which the size was in the title. I received the following email today...
"IM SORRY I DIDNT REALIZE THE SIZE OF THE XXXX. I AM IN THE MILITARY AND I AM LOOKING FOR XXXX. I DIDNT READ THE ENTIRE DISCRIPTION. I NO LONGER WISH TO PURCHASE XXXX." That is all it said.
I did a search on ebay for this user and found them to be a newbie. How new? -minutes before they BIN'd. They have bid on nothing else either. I believe that this is a set up but don't know what to do.
I have been selling on ebay for about 5 months and have left a couple of Negs on NPB but nothing recently so I'm not sure what is going on here. Any ideas? Am I just being paranoid?
The only way I know to contact safeharbor is to file a NPB notice. What would you all suggest?
Thanks,
cmdar

Well, here's a couple of things I might try. Do you have anything in her size that you could offer as alternates after explaining the "this is a binding contract part". If not I think I would let her go, if she is a newbie, and bought something on impulse at the last minute, she probably didn't read the rules. Not a good excuse, but is it really worth the aggravation that could come of all this. I would turn it into an educational experience for her and let her know what could happen if she had a less understanding seller. She might turn into a good repeat customer as she would feel comfortable with a fair seller? Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Set up for what?
Maybe this is a legitimate bidder and just made a mistake. File your NPB and state bidder not willing to pay.

Thanks "Jayadiaz" for your reply. Sometimes I swear I'm "stuck on stupid". I did contact this customer asking what size she was looking for and offered the different size. She did reply and perhaps the deal will go through after all.
Thanks again!

do a non pay bidder's alert on them and after 10 more days you can request a final value fee credit from ebay. that is really all you can do and also leave the user negative feedback.
