Ok, many of you were following my other thread that this relates to:
http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&thread=310474
Well, I did file my NPB and FVF on him and NEGGED him yesterday.
My neg to him:
Complaint: He bids, he wins, he threatens, he harrasses, & after all that he DOESN'T PAY!!
He responded to that neg:
Response: I offered to pay immediately by paypal, but she insisted on cash.ck, then ripped
Get a load of THAT!!! Talk about LIES! (My auction even states no Paypal & no Checks, and my auction also says I DO NOT SUGGEST SENDING CASH!!) He also told me NUMEROUS times that he sent me a MO - but refused to trace it. He wouldn't even ANSWER me when I asked him repeatedly about tracing the MO.
Anyways, he just negged me back (as I was expecting him to):
Complaint: DO NOT PAY THIS SELLER IN ANYTHING THAT CANT BE TRACED! SHE WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!
So now what do you all think??

I did expect this loser to NEG me back.
There was another thread on here today that said once a seller files a NPB that the bidder cannot leave feedback. This proves that theory wrong.

I told you what to do.
At least you could have dragged it on until he could not leave you a neg.

Exactly what did you tell me to do?
There was absolutely NO WAY to prevent him from leaving me a NEG.

EG:
I was thinking about you today while I enjoyed my favorite past time ~ shopping (guess you can tell I'm female since I don't do my thinking in the John )
I wanted to tell you to wait 89 days from the close of the auction ~ enjoying every minute of it, and then you could neg him just before the 90 days was up ~ avoiding a retaliatory neg. I drove like a banshee all the way home ~ logged on only to find you had already left FB!
Sorry the creep dissed you girlfriend!
How to respond? "My apologies, I thought you had to actually PAY for an auction to leave feedback"

Leave a follow-up in his feedback, and a reply in your feedback. Astute bidders can follow the trail, read your auction, and discern what happened. Don't sweat the feedback, it's no big deal. Bidders like this eventually get NARU'ed and when that happens, you will be completely vindicated.
Right now I'm dealing with a bidder who insists on paying for her $12 item through i-escrow, which I do not accept. Bidder claims to pay for "all of [her] online transactions through i-escrow," though she has a (0) feedback rating at eBay. This one has all the signs of turning into a feedback fiasco. It's no 'bid' deal.

Kaffro: "Bonehead" is being nicer than what I think of this guy So glad my NEG brought some laughter to you... LOL
Cheapstar: That feedback is PERFECT!!!!! LOVE IT!! "My apologies, I thought you had to actually PAY for an auction to leave feedback".. that is so perfect and to the point! Thank you! As for the 90-day room to leave feedback, that's not a "sure thing". Ebay only says that you can leave feedback for at LEAST 90 days. My luck he would have had much more time than 90 days to neg me
Now what should I respond to the response he left himself?

Sorry, Exec Girl. But it really was inevitable, he was a psycho from the start. But I sincerely doubt this one neg is going to affect you, and I agree with Kaffro, HE is the one who looks the idiot here. Because he IS one.
Chepistar - yes good response!! Or:
"My apologies, I thought you had to actually PAY for an auction to get your shipment!"

I kinda hate to suggest this, but there was a way to avoid the neg -- don't leave one for him.
I know that this undermines the value of the feedback system, but until Ebay comes up with a way to eliminate retaliatory negs (such as not allowing feedback after an NPB has been filed) it's something we all have to consider.

If the idea of feedback is to warn other community members, then waiting 3 months is a weak effort at best, toward doing the right thing. You may as well "protect your feedback" by not leaving any feedback at all.
And do not be lulled into thinking that you can leave a neg at 89 days and 23 hours and the person won't be able to neg you. I have been told by several higher-ups at eBay that is a "minimum" timeframe, and that auctions can be found longer than that.

Oh, Rocker that one is excellent too! Decisions, decisions!
Amalgamated: I understand how the feedback system is seriously flawed, but I do believe in leaving NEGS where they are deserved. If for no other reason, but to warn other sellers like myself against jerks like this. Also, even if I didn't NEG him - that does not guarantee he will not NEG me first, either.

Atleast it's over with him!!

I wonder if you if you can convince eBay to remove the feedback due to its libelous nature. You can prove it is untrue and it was worded in such a way as to ruin your business reputation.
What sellers need is an on-line lawyer, who for a small fee, would write letters to eBay management about the effect of their decision not to remove provable libelous statements. And also, send letters to the leavers of such statement what can happen to them in civil court for libel that is desgned to ruin a seller's reputation. Many small fees will add up to a large paycheck and there are so many buyers like the one you had who need to suddenly realize they are not anonymous and untouchable from lawsuits from their actions.

Might I ask a question that is not exactly related? I got a neg ~ which I responded to, but I also wanted to neg this person back, but when I went to leave feedback, the system made it a neutral ~ even though I marked neg ~ why is that? I was the seller in this case.

EG: I am so sorry this happened to you. Selling is hard enough without scammers and unreasonable people. I think you are asking about posting a comment to respond to his feedback.
The main thing I see is there was never any proof of payment that he claimed.
Claims sent Check - NOT, NO PROOF, WANTS SOMETHING FOR NOTHING, REFUSES TO READ TOS.
I hope you have a better week this week.
Good luck on your auctions.

That fb recommendation is EXCELLENT! HA! Maybe a thread should be started with great comebacks, in less words as possible, that gets the point across so darn well like that one up there."My apologies, I thought you had to actually PAY for an auction to leave feedback"..

thekismeme: I would say that was an Ebay glitch. I have no idea why your feedback would have turned to a neutral unless that's the button you clicked on. Did you try to contact ebay and tell them about the problem?
Sharkbaby: Gotcha! Thanks for the translation! lol
mark: I've been down that road with ebay before, regarding feedbacks. They are very strict with their feedback removal procedures and I'm sure they will not do anything for me in this case, unfortunately .
msstone: Thanks for the feedback suggestion! It sure would be nice if us sellers had some kind of protection against these losers, huh? Yes, the main thing with this transaction was this guy really did want something for nothing. He told me repeatedly he sent me a MO - even said he personally mailed it on 12/30. But every time I asked him if he would trace the MO or why wouldn't he trace the MO he ignored it.

You guys on this board sure came up with some great ones!! Thanks to all of you!

Another nut job I had a run-in with recently. Guy sent a check and I shipped item without holding the check. Less than $20, so no big deal. Customer immediately starts emailing me that the item didn't arrive, and wants a replacement sent.
So, naturally, the check bounced back. Sent him a note, and left negative feedback, putting his rating at (-4/12). Obviously a scam artist. And of course I got the retaliatory neg.
But here's the kicker. He's still emailing me about the item. He wants his brother, who lives 10 hours away, to come pick up the check AND the item. (Huh?) Oh yeah, like that's going to happen.
Maybe I'm not a "people person" but these dimwits really try my patience.

i've read both threads and got addicted as well.
EG -- let's say you do get his payment, even tho we know you're not. you said in the previous thread you'd send it back insured and DC. i would recommend using return receipt requested instead. it'll cost you some money, but you'll get a card back with his or his wife's signature with proof that it was received. if they refuse it, that'll be on the card as well.

What do I think? This guy is a psychological vampire and he's already been given way more power over your time and energy than he deserves.
It's a shame it happened and I empathize, but I would say life is too short to spend another second thinking about this.
