Hi
I believe this is some type of Fraternal pin possibly European, but I am unsure. It has on the back three letters, “A” “J” and the third letter is not distinguishable. The pin also has hallmarks the first closest to the star point is the letter “M” the middle has an arrow or point with what looks like three vases around it, and the third looks like a lion with one front paw raised. The pin is made of silver and the three legs are gold.
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be a big help.
Thanks
Edited because I got a fair to good picture of the Hallmark now.

Hello. I think I can help a little. It looks very, very similar to a mark for a Canadian silver / gold smithing company - I cannot recall the company name because it is not common - (Three legs running). If it were this "compnay" pin, it would be quite rare and dated no earlier than the mid 1800's.
Ive seen the mark (I remember it well because I thought it was quite neat) in a Canadian government issued archeological survey of Canadian metal companies, copyright 1972. I can get the company name if you like, but it will take me a couple of days as I have to go to the library.
Hope that gives you a little clue as where to research should you wish.

"The three legs running is the national symbol of the Isle of Man, Great Britain. The Latin inscription is the national motto, 'Quocunque Jeceris Stabit', which means 'Whichever way you throw it will stand'. The Masonic symbols of compass, set square, and chain carved on top."

Hi The Three Legs could have something to do with the Isle Of Man as this is on the flag of the island. If you dont no it is a island off England where they hold the famous motor cycling races each year.

This probably won't help much, but I've also found a reference to "the Greek Triskelion, three legs running, has symbolized victory, progress, and good fortune for thousands of years."
