I sell quite a lot on eBay and get great emails once in awhile. I thought I would share
this one I received today. It was for a Bible game I just sold:
Got your email....will Paypal you $11.50 tonight 1/25/01!!!
VERY cool that I won this bid...this day....I used to play this game w/my
Gram at her house all the time. I loved it!! When she died, 11 years ago
TODAY, I wanted this game from her house. One of my cousins had already
pinched it....so now I'll have my own to play w/my two sons, aged 11.5 and
17 mos. MANY, MANY THANKS
I also received a "Hartwarming" email recently and thought I'd share:
Dear Rhonda ---
I wanted you to know that finding your auction brought back a little of my childhood. There were 8 kids in my family and 6 of us took piano lessons at school. I remember being around 6 to 8 years old and having the "Fireside Book of Folk Songs" in the piano bench and taking it out when we had to practice. I just remember looking at the pictures and wishing I could draw like that (while practicing, of course!) I do not know whatever happened to the book but I have been looking for the exact book for the 15 years (if not longer!). I was so surprised a number of weeks ago when I came across the book on e-Bay as I couldn't remember the exact words in the title - I do remember exactly what the cover of the book, the dust cover and the inside looked like. I even remember a number of the songs like "The Marseilles," "Sweet Molly Mallone" and "Camp Town Races" a well as "Danny Boy." However, the other books offered had either no dust cover or were in unacceptable condition (tears, rips, binding coming apart and water stains.) I am so DELIGHTED to have won the auction and want to assure you that the book is DEFINTIELY going to a GOOD home where it will be treasured for many generations to come.

Sometime ago, I posted a question here asking if anyone knew anything about Bill Layne and some elf puzzles. Well, I put them up on ebay and here is the buyers note:
Yep, contratulations to me indeed. You cannot possibly know how happy I am
to find these puzzles. Briefly, they are three of the four exact puzzles I
played with as a child. They had been passed down from my older siblings. I
had many happy hours playing with them. Recently, my mom gave them to my
sister, who in typical big sister fashion, refused to let me borrow them to
play with (with my grandson of course....;>...). Anyhow, I had never been
on ebay before, and have, over the last three months been searching for the
Bill Layne Elves building houses. I've collected several simular scenes, but
not until YOU came along, did I find the right ones. So, now I have achieved
my goal and plan to stop this ebay obsession (not!).
