All at once my email isn't working. I have received a payment through paypal, no notice. I have launched 2 auctions on ebay, no notice. Buyer has emailed me I think, about paypal payment, no notice.

My email seems to go out and check both sites (I have 2), then says no new messages. I have checked the addresses and properties, what else can I check?

Can someone try to email me at [email protected] to see if it bounces back? Thanks ahead of time for any help here.

Lost some email folders last week too. ISP is my guess. Back up - back up - back up! Can't say it enought. I was able to retrieve many of them with a tape back up. Highly recommended for rolling black out areas.

It's possible that your mail box is full. Have you checked to see if you have the box checked to leave messages on your server? Pull down the preferences menu, click on servers and edit. Check and see (mine is under POP) if that box is checked. If it is then your're probably full and you'll have to check the box that says delete messages from server. You can also check http://www.mail2web.com and if you have a ton of messages there then you'll know that box is checked.

If you want to test your Email account to see if your mail program is messing up or if it is the mail server go to www.mailstart.com

and check your mail if it bring up email from your mailserver then you know the trouble is with your program if it brings up no mail then you know its your mail servers

If your email through your ISP is a POP3 type, you might try a piece of shareware called Pop3 Scan MailBox. It allows you to log on to your mail server and either delete emails that are clogging up your account, or just to see what could be there.

I use it here to check my Road Runner mail account since I have quite a few mail rules set up to prevent spam and mass mailings from coming into my Outlook Express.

Look here: http://www.kempston.demon.co.uk/smb/

Edited for UBB boo boo's.

The techs at your ISP can login telnet into your mail box if it is over full from not deleteing mail from your mail server they can delete the old mail so your new mail can get to you again.

Its also posiable your ISP changed there mail setting and instead of emailing all about it announced it on there web page and if you never check there website you wouldnt know of the changes you needed to make in your email program to get your mail.

I called ISP and it is them. Email went down about 10:30 this morning. They said to keep checking it and they hope it is fixed soon. 3 emails finally did eke through.

Thanks again everyone. I have bookmarked this thread for future reference.
