We usually sell glass and china. The last few weeks have been the worst we have experienced as on-line auction sellers. We've listed items at less than half of book in RS Prussia and Royal Bayreuth yet have generated no interest. On other items when we do have a buyer we have experienced an increased number of slow pay and no pay.

Less than half of book may not be cheap enough to bring a lot of interest if your categories are glutted with listings. This isn't what you want to hear, but it could be part of the problem. Plus, in every category there are natural up and down swings.
If you have the nerve, try starting some $1.00, no reserve auctions. That'll bring the bidders in. Once it has a few bids it's likely to get a few more, and so on... Bids draw more bids in almost every case. As long as it's a desirable piece you're practically guaranteed it won't go too cheaply.
****Of course there is a slim possibility you may sell it too cheaply. But I wouldn't recommend it if it didn't work almost all the time. Just remember that it's got to be a really good item to try this.
