In the past week, I've had to file 7 npb warnings. Last night I received emails from 2 different bidders, claiming it was actually their husband's writing the message, because the bidder was in the hospital. The sick persons were in the process of mailing the payment "right away" 2 weeks ago, when they fell ill. If I would tell the husband the amount, he'd make sure the payment was mailed, again, "right away."
Feeling bad the people are sick and in the hospital, I'm very sympathetic in my reply and give the totals -- also saying they can tell me to cancel the auction if there's too much going on. (so I can at least get my insertion fees back).
I don't know if I really buy this, however. Emergencies happen, but 2 at once?

Yeah, my seller who never responded to email, and took a month to ship was in and out of the hospital, yet he never missed a day listing new items. Lovely how these new hospitals have modem connections.
Not my name on ebay.

My daughter and I had the flu all last weekend and I still had auctions listing...through the automated lister. The "I'm sick" or "I'm in the hospital" isn't always a lie. Early in December I found out on a Monday that I had to have surgery on Wednesday. No warning, no preparation, nothing. Boom. Surgery. It does happen!

Good luck with your surgery. I know it must make you fretful, but just think~~~Thursday it will be all said & done.
Here's wishing you a very fast recovery!

Hi Jan Thanks but it is already over, that happened in December It was a surprise and I felt like I had been hit by a bus for quite some time. I still have some problems from it but it had to be done! But my point was that things like that really do suddenly come up!
My grammar really stinks sometimes!

My husband and I had the flu and we were sick in bed for a full week. It took me an extra week to get on my feet. I had three auctions end where I owed money, and needed to get money orders. The sellers were very sympathetic, but I finally had my daughter go buy the money orders for me. I was a nervous wreck about it.
If I were you I would cut your buyers some slack. Here in NW Ohio the flu is knocking everyone on their butts.
