Hi all -

This is probably going to sound rather dippy, but I can't think of who else to ask! I've been a buyer on eBay for over a year, but just had my first 4 auctions end last Saturday as a seller (decided to clear out some of hubby's old computer games that were just collecting dust).

It all was going so well! All 4 sold *and* I heard from all the bidders, all intending to pay - having read these boards for quite some time, I was shocked it went so smoothly...

As payment methods, I said I accepted PayPal, money orders, cashiers checks, or personal checks. One paid by PayPal - that I knew how to handle. A personal check I would have known how to handle....a cashier's check I would have known how to handle....BUT...

This may sound strange but I have never bought OR cashed a money order in my life, and now I have two in my possession - one, a postal money order, one a western union money order. I know I can cash the postal money order at the post office, but could I also just deposit it into my checking account like a check? What about the Western Union one? Do I need to go to a Western Union branch to cash it, or could I just deposit it into my account like a check?

I have to go to the post office to mail the packages anyway, and there's a western union place straight across the street, so no problems there, but I'd just rather shove 'em in my checking account without converting them to cash first - is this possible?

Sorry this is so long - I tend to babble Any help would be appreciated!

Many thanks,
Tarisa

You should be able to deposit them just like a check.

All you need do is just endorse them on the back the same as you would a check and deposit them into your checking or savings account where you bank. Money Orders are basicly the same as cash.
