Just wanted to tell everyone about this: I just received my Tif 9010 electronic charging scale. It cost me about $70 on ebay!! This is a scale that is intended to be used for refrigeration work. It is listed as a 75# capacity but that is for liquid freon. It actually is 100# capacity because the freon container is allowed 25#. It is slim and has a carry case. My wife bought a postal scale last year that only has a 10# capacity and it cost her about $35 and I see they are selling for about $30 now. You can even do letters on this as the resolution is 1/2 oz. Another thing to add to my ebay outfit! I have a desktop, a laptop, wireless networking, a digi camera, a scanner, a nice tif scale, Tape dispenser, a ton of Priority boxes,

Well I thought it was great, precision to 1/2 oz lets me give accurate shipping fees. I am a stickler for this as I only charge actual shipping cost. (I pay for the tape and use Priority boxes) What does everyone else do? My bathroom scale has cost me too much on heavy packages and I really don't like to take peoples money on shipping fees.

I bought a Royal scale on eBay (don't know the model number, but you can't miss them- there's an auction for one closing nearly every hour) that weighs up to 10 pounds in 1/10 oz. increments. That, along with an occasional stop at the post office to buy a bunch of self-adhesive stamps saves a ton of time.

This tif scale meets my needs as many of my ebay items go over 10 pounds so I can weigh letters as well as a Buick 455 cylinder head.

Hi!
My husband picked up an old baby scale at a yard sale for me to use--works GREAT! It even has the removable tray. The best part is that you can put bigger stuff on it and still see the numbers.
It's been very accurate, too--definitely worth the four bucks he paid for it!!

Yes I had an old spring scale like that and the last I saw of it my son was weighing a fish last september. Now he claims he has no idea what it looked like. My guess is it is out in a snow bank now. I really like to be accurate on shipping as I like others to be with me so if it is near the line I want to know. Plus this scale goes to 100# not the 25 or 50 that the smaller spring scale goes to.

I finally got some nice 150 pound scales. There is none for sale on eBay at the moment but if you do a search for past auctions under Fairbanks Digital Scales you will find a great set of scales.
150 lb. FAIRBANKS DIGITAL SCALES from UPS is what you will come up with.
Not cheap mind you, but great scales. Expect to pay + - $200.00 for them.
