Early Jan. I bid and won an auction for "a widget". I paid by PP and they sent it by USPriority Mail. I asked the seller if they would sell me 11 others in different colors, which they agreed to do, when they got them in stock within the next week. Meanwhile, I won 1 more, and and I paid $41.00 (as agreed)for 6 that she had in stock, including the one I won. She got the others the next week, and I sent a PP for $46.50 to pay for the others, including 1 more that I had won on ebay. $10.00 of the $87.50 was for shipping, which I failed to clarify which type she was using, since she had sent the first one Priority. (I shouldn't have assumed, I know) Needless to say, my package never arrived. She told me she had mailed by Parcel Post, of all things! She got mean and nasty with me when I initially told her I didn't get it, as if I were lying. I have been patiently waiting on a box she mailed on 1-18. We have been in touch and I told her I would wait one more week, because she is SURE it will arrive. I am a reasonable person, but I don't have $87.50 to throw away. I did my part, and I didn't receive what I purchased! She said her husband wanted to wait until today before he "works something out", whatever that means. Please, what would you do? I realize MY mistake in not clarifying shipping info + insurance for so much money, but because of that do I have to lose out altogether? Thanks for your ideas and advice on this!

I would suggest waiting. The USPS is not the most reliable shipper and it the only one that I use that has ever "lost" a shipment. And that is not uncommon with them. It is the Sellers responsibility to insure their package as they are the only party that can claim insurance on the package. I can't figure out why any seller would give a buyer the option NOT to insure. It is the Sellers responsiblity to supply the goods. If it's lost in the mail it is their responsibility to replace it or return your money. Thus the reason for Insurance. I am sorry but all the other hairbrain shipping schemes I hear about on eBay are not in my estimation good business practice. Even if someone is selling ala flea market style, under most state laws, they are selling or making a business transaction. Ebay has some rules on how long the transaction should take but none on how long it takes to ship so be patient. Good luck
