This looks alot like a Royal Vienna according to my book on pottery and porcelain. It may not be though--just can't be sure. If you will email me I will scan the drawing and info so you can be the judge. Email is [email protected]

I checked out Royal Vienna on eBay to see if there was anything similar and everything I looked at was very ornate, with lots of gold (rococo maybe??). The plate I have is solid red, no pictures or gold.

Also, has the Royal Vienna markings changed over time? There where several auctions that said they were for R.V. and the markings were very different.

thanks

By george, I think you nailed it!

Thanks you guys for taking the time to help me. I am always amazed by the kindness of you AW folks to take time out of your day to help a stranger! (Some days I am stranger than others!)

Do you know much about E & R Waechtersbach? All I found were two dishes on eBay, sold by the same person.

I guess what I am asking is, is it worth hanging on to a single plate to sell on ebay or should I "good will" it?

To my knowledge ERW now makes mostly dinnerware. The company is still in
business. Is your dish a solid deep high gloss red with a sort of rounded edge? If so
this is a pattern that was made in a variety of bright colors. I am sorry I don't
remember the name of the pattern. I am not sure what it would bring at auction, but I
wouldn't think more than $4.00 or $5.00, assuming there was a person who needed a
replacement or an extra.

is the plate RED or is is RED/ORANGE? red is my favorite color and i'd hate to see you goodwill it.

combat boots, you can email me if you want. no, this is not a ploy to sell it off of ebay. you can email me the item number if you put it up.

thanks
