I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to stop my Netscape mail program from opening up the Netscape main page when I click on my mailbox? This only happens when I start Netscape. I am on a very slow internet service and it takes ages for this page to load before it will go and get the new messages. I know how to change the start page in the browser window, but have tried everything to stop the Netscape page from loading in the email program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I have used Netscape mail for years and never had this problem before. However, I took my compuyter in for some upgrades and now I can't get rid of this blasted page that keeps junking up my mailbox.)

When I logged in again to netscape mail a screen came up from them notifying me that they changed my name to a name with a # after it. I stopped using the service after that.

I haven't found a way to change that. In order to bypass that, what I do is as soon as I open up my netscape mail I click on one of the messages that are already there, while it's checking for new messages. This way it opens a previous message and I don't have to wait for anything from netscape's site to download.

Thanks for responding auctionqueenie and rosiebud. I will try what you suggest and look seriously at getting another email program. Enough already with stuff loading into my computer that I don't want!

Hi goldensands,
You didn't say which version of Netscape you upgraded to but I'd bet it's 4.5 or higher. I had to fix what sounds like a similar annoyance with my version 4.75.
