I mailed out a package on Jan 31, and I did use delivery confirmation, but all it says is that is was accepted. Is anyone else experiencing that parcel post is running slow?

I thought it was just me. Yes, it is terribly slow. I was offering an option of priority or parcel because that extra 50cents is breaking some of my customers (or so they say). However, it is taking forever to get to them and they blame me! Give me a break. In addition, since the rates went up, I've already had a lost package and broken items using parcel. Parcel post is not given the same treatment as priority mail. I now state in my description 2-day priority. I guess the adage, you get what you pay for applies here too.

I find that for fairly local delivery (postal zone 1,2 & 3) UPS can be quite quick. Under 5 days. For heavier items, UPS can be quite a cost savings as well. Here is a chart that compares prices for a 12x12x8 item going to different zones with different weights.

Use Priority mail for your smaller packages ALWAYS. The boxes are INCLUDED the tape is INCLUDED and the labels are INCLUDED. IF you count your cost of these items I think the 50 cents is well worth it. I am adding to my auctions an additional charge for UPS due to the fact that I have to find a box and pack the item. If it is a fairly large item and the profit is under $15 it is hardly worth it to go thru the motions.
