Hiya!

Can anyone give me some insight on the best time of day to have an auction end?

I upload auctions in the morning and so they have been ending around 6 am pacific time which I am starting to think perhaps this is to early for some.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Gina

Since the fees went into place, I have had to stop listing many 10-day auctions. Using 7 day auctions, I'm going to start putting my auctions up to close at 11pm eastern on Sunday nights.... see how that goes... maybe a few on Monday nights same time frame to catch any I missed the night before...

I schedule 5 day auctions to start at 5:15 p.m. EST on Sundays and close at 5:15 p.m. EST on Fridays. I've found this is the best time to catch Friday afternoon "at work" surfers and sales are up!

Hello,
Thanks for some great advise. The only problem is that I have been running about 25 to 30 auctions per week and hope to up those numbers to 90 to 100.

I currently have it set up so that 3 to 5 auctions end each day. This helps me to keep track better.

So rather than just having auctions close on Sundays or Mondays I would having them close each day. I do get the feeling that closing the auctions in the evening are the best.

I suppose if I had them set up to close each night around 7pm mountain time, that would be 6 on the west coast.

Hmmmm, will have to give this some more thought.

I want to make the auctions avaliable to the most people as possible. So I really should have them close at night rather than mornings?

Thanks again for your great advise.

Hello. We sell sports trading cards and collectibles on ebay. We found that our auctions do extremely well ending on Sunday nights. We usually target between 10:30 and 11:45 eastern time. Works really well. Our next best day is Saturday night. Same times, but a lot weaker. Rest of the week is slow for us. Sometimes Thursday night is okay. We run approx 5-10 auctions that night.

When closing an auction I always try to remember to give people on the West Coast time to get home and not make it too late for people on the East Coast.

I really liked 10 day auctions. I still might use that option for items which I feel will end in the $15 and up range to get more coverage.

Check your category and see which auctions are bringing in the best bids and see when they end.

I usually launch 7 day auctions on Monday evenings 7:30-9PM CST. Seems like a very busy time for eBayers. You do not want late night or early mornings.

The actual close time is somewhat academic if you use Buy It Now. People at work seem to use it a lot.

jenikahscloset Sunday is generally thought to be the best night to have an auction close. There's a calendar at http://www.auctionbytes.com/Email_Newsletter/calendar/calendar.html that gives the best days to post auctions based on length of auction and what day you prefer to end them.
