I put a small pottery Collie up for sale. 2 people got into a bidding war for the little dog. Picture was crystal clear and I was shocked out how high it went. Here is the problem. Once the high bidder recieved the Collie she said I misrepresented it by calling it a Border Collie. I am by no means an authority on dogs. I guess I thought all Collies were Border Collies. She wants her money back. She says it is an American Collie and very very different from a Border Collie. She never emailed me with questions and if she is an expert why did she bid it up so high? I am sending her the money back because I will not do that to my customers but it makes me mad.

Look, if she can't tell the difference between a border collie and an american collie either your pictures were blurry AND black and white...or she is doesn't know dogs.
I think it is buyers remorse, go to AKC.org
(also known as puppymill.com) and look up the breeds.
Different coats, different heads, different coat patterns and even different size (not a lot)
Good luck.

(if I offend someone who breeds dogs, sorry, but I have to say, there a LOT of euthanized dogs and cats and I can't resist lambasting the AKC)

You say the picture was crystal clear, but I'd have to see the picture before I'd offer my opinion or advice. Any chance you can post it here?

I looked at the auction, it is most certainly an American "Lassie" type of Collie. Your pic was clear, but you might want to crop them a bit more. I wonder why your bidder's feedback is private? He has no negs... hmmm....

Looking at the pic I would definitely say it was an American Collie, but I wouldn't describe your pic as "crystal clear". I agree, a good look at the pic should have told her it was not a border collie. Perhaps she thought since it was mislabeled she expected she would be able to get a deal on it, and now is having buyers remorse. I think that you are doing the right thing since it was mistitled.

P.S. You might want to invite her before this thread gets noticed.

I took a peek at akc.org, and compared your photo with one of a border collie, and your figurine definately wasn't a border collie. However,if one was a collector of all things border collie (take a peek at the bidder's history), then I'd have to be pretty blind not to notice the difference in the photo.

(And I wouldn't call it a bidding war, really, just the winner bidder trying desperately to figure out the other bidder's proxy)

I collect all kinds of border collie items (including live border collies. LOL) I have looked at MANY items that claim to be border collies and they are not. However, I can immediately tell by looking at the pic. I looked at your auction and it is definitely NOT a border collie and you can tell that by the pic. If you look up the bidding history this bidder has bid on many border collie items so they should have been able to tell the difference from the picture.
