It's a little more complicated than that.
EVERY book has a first edition (many only have that) ... but there can be many printings of the same edition. To be a true first, you have to have the FIRST printing of the first edition. Check the printing information for some sign of a date line or a number line or the words "First edition"
This varies among publishers ...
Also, what is the condition. The book is not that old, and unless it's in superb condition with its slipcover also in superb condition, it's just another used book. There are in 205 listings online, ranging from $58 (as new, slipcase intact) (There is on for 6.00 with slipcover in the same condition!) down to $5.00 for one with no slipcover in unstated condition. As you can see, pricing is wildly variable.
American Heritage is/was a publisher that printed fancy editions of books about American history and famouns historical personalities. They are known for their pretty bindings and size, not necessarily their quality of writing.

What is slip cased? The book is a hard back with a dust jacket.
Yes, Will Rogers.
Abacaxi: That is all the info that is given about the printing.
The condition of the cover not that great, there is a rip in the dust jacket, but the book itself is in great condition. The binding is still tight, no marks or folded pages and it doesn't seem like the book was read much, if at all.

Slip case - a box you slide the book into, that shows the spine. Usually for $ books or sets.
<P>The printing information is USUALLY on the reverse of the title page ... you have to at least know the publisher.
book is a hard back with a dust jacket ... my advice is to list it for enough to make a small profit, make the contents sound interesting in the description, and describe the damage accurately. It's not worth dithering about.

No slip case. The publisher is American Heritage Publishing Company Inc.,
Book trade distribution by Mcgraw-Hill Company
If my memory serves me correctly doesn't McGraw-Hill also do text books?
Kimbonovich: the only numbers listed are the ones I gave in my first post.
