I was checking the feedback of a deadbeat bidder of mine. I noticed someone had left him new feedback, so I looked at it. Here is the gist of what it said:

Super Fast!! If need any widget Please call 1-800-XXX-XXXX Thanks DaXXXX XXXX+++++

That's a first for me. I've never noticed anyone running ads via feedback before. The person who left the feedback has 3000+ feedbacks himself.

Is this "Ebay legal"? What if you put your website URL in the feedback? Great advertising... if you can get away with it???

I believe posting any URL's in feedback is against ebay's policies and the feedback can be removed.

I found this on the 'reasons for feedback to be removed by eBay page': http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/fbremove.html

"The feedback, on its face, has absolutely no connection with eBay, such as personal
comments about users, or feedback related to commercial transactions that were not
conducted through eBay. This includes feedback that contains any reference to another
auction service, or feedback that advertises the goods or services of someone other than the
user for whom the feedback was left."

Wow, what a great idea..........

What if....

You reply to your feedback with:

"Thank you for your feedback, www.goodwidgets.com"

What do you think ? Is that too much ?

I've seen lots of user IDs with ".com" in them. Therefore, what would be wrong with a feedback like "Thank you from collectibles.com?" Seems if collectibles.com was the user ID, there would be no problem? change your user ID!

I am not affiliated with collectibles.com, the name was used as an example only.

Am I the only person who thinks it is tacky beyond words, and a definite turn OFF? I have come across feedback like that a number of times, and always thought it made the person who posted it look really bad.

Definitely not what I'd call a class act. When it comes to money some don't show much class.
