I have an interesting piece of Bakelite that I would like to list on Ebay. I do not know what to call it. It is red, test positive for bakelite and is shaped like a pepper. It has a metal attachment that is marked PATENT ITALY and opens to attach keys or to attach to something else. The red bakelite piece unswrews about an inch down from the top and the opening inside is hollow for holding something. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

It could be the Italian folklore item called a "figi" (sort of a horn-shaped thing).

How big is this? Could it hold matches? Gin?

GIN, I have looked at the item again and it could hold a few (four or five) stick matches, but the way it narrows as it gets half way down, it would not hold many. Thanks, Lennie
