After 35 days and no payment I filed the NPB Alert. At 50 days I filed and got the FVF Credit. At 55 days I get a check from the high bidder.

Now what?

I'd send it back, and many recommend that you do so with some proof of mailing. However, he'd be hard pressed to prove any kind of fraud, since he has no proof that you got it, much less cashed it.

This seems to be the latest NPB game. Send payment only if the seller actually files the FVF request, and hope that he'll agree to have Ebay reverse it. I'm glad to see very few sellers are falling for this.

I had a deal just like that. I refused the envelope with his payment at the post office, emailed him and told him what I had done, and sent a copy of the email to ebay.

Cash the check.
