Question!

Had an auction end for $2035.00 which did not meet my reserve of $2500.00. Is it against ebay's policy to ask the high bidder what their maximum amount is that they are willing to pay for this item? (To make a deal with the high bidder?)

Yes, according to eBay it is.
It's considered Fee Avoidance, or Spam, or sumpin?

If the high bidder contacts you, well that's another story altogether.

ExecutiveGirl,

I say go for it. If you can sell the item and make a profit, sell it!

You are just using ebay to make money. If you sell it to the bidder that will pay you, then do it. Why ask, just do!

Poor advice Trey. If the high bidder is an anti-spam type of person, they could forward the email to safe harbor which would result in a nastygram, and a check mark next to Exec's user ID.
