I have a primate fur coat that was made in the 1920's that I want to list on Ebay for a client of mine. I've contacted Ebay, Federal Fish and Game...a couple of others, but can't find out if it will be legal to sell. I believe that all species of Primates are endangered, but like Ivory, there may be a "grandfathered" clause regarding the sale/purchase of this item. Anybody have any ideas or KNOW where I can get a definitive answer BEFORE I list it and get my "hands slapped".

Here's the endangered mammal species list. If it's on here, you can't list it. (There is no "grandfather" clause pertaining to sale of goods on eBay under the Endangered Species Act.)

Your best bet is to have the client give it to the educational branch of the state fish and game department for them to use in exhibits.
I got rid of a VERY illegal Gila monster belt buckle that way. The lizard had died a natural death, but just having it was illegal.

Giving to the educational department is a really good idea! I'll see if I can convince the client that that would be her "safest" and "best" bet!
Oh, Natural Death...of course. Bet there were even tire marks on its back. LOL

Various "primates" were used. Our F&G guys have a gorilla coat from the 20s (ugly pelts ... I can't see why anyone would use it for fur), and one of about the same vintage made from black and white colobus monkeys (striking, but I'd rather see it on the monkey).
