Several days ago I wrote to eBay and requested that they add a feature similar to what YAHOO auctions has due to the fact that I am tired of getting ripped off by non-paying bidders. Currently, I can list an auction with YAHOO and block bidders that have a 0,1,2,3....feedback rating from bidding on my auctions & it would be helpful if eBay added this feature. They aren't interested and said I could list it in all of my auctions or pull bids prior to auction end that had low or 0 or neg ratings. I don't know about everyone else but who has the TIME to monitor each of their auctions?
I have been a seller on eBay for almost 3 years now and it's very frustrating to me! Any similar experiences out there?
My id is glynng

Why would you want to block bidders with feedback of 0 to 3? Seems like financial suicide to me.

It's amazing to find out the things people will do to sabotage their own auctions.

I agree with cherbil. It's not sabotage, its protecting yourself from non-paying bidders. I will say however that 80% of my "0" feedback bidders have paid. I have even had a few -1 or -2 pay for auctions promtly. I have asked ebay for the same system though. I would not use it all the time, but on some items I would.

Oh, one more thing. I would at least like to be able to ban certain bidders without having to send a letter to safeharbor all the time.

Some of the best bidders are newbies. They often bid higher and pay faster.

Non-paying bidders of all kinds should be dealt with in the same way.

Most of my nonpaying bidders have had a MINIMUM of 25 pos fb. My most recent one had 54 and is now NARU - she already had 3 negs for nonpayment, apparently mine was the final straw.

OTOH, my "newbie" bidders have been wonderful - high bidding, fast paying and a pleasure

Yeah, I too hope ebay does the Yahoo thing.

SO I CAN PICK UP ALL OF YOUR CUSTOMERS !!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

GIVE ME A BREAK WITH THE NEWBIE THING !!

I LOVE NEWBIES !!! THEY DO PAY MORE AND FASTER !!!

SOME OF THESE DEADBEATS WHICH I HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH HAVE UPWARDS OF 100 FEEDBACK AND THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE SCUM OF THE EARTH !!!

ONE LADY WITH 92 FEEDBACK DECIDED NOT TO PAY ME. I EMAILED HER AND TOLD HER I WOULD REPORT HER FOR NON-PAYMENT AND I RECIEVED NO REPLY. EVEN AFTER FILING NPBA, STILL NO REPLY.

YESTERDAY SHE EMAILS ME AN EMAIL FULL OF PROFANITIES AND THEN NEGS ME !!!!!!

SHE SAID I AM A THIEF IN MY FEEDBACK PROFILE !!!

I HAVE OVER 700 FEEDBACK AND NOT ONCE HAVE I RECIEVED SUCH AN AWFUL FEEDBACK !!!

I HAVE SOLD ITEMS UPWARDS OF $500.00 AND THIS DINGBAT THINKS I WOULD STEAL HER $11.00

SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST STUPID NO MATTER HOW HIGH THEIR FEEDBACK IS.

CIX- you crack me up! I have been mostly fortunate with "newbies"; their biggest problem has generally been not being able to figure out PayPal! I'm mostly faced with kids (under 18) that cannot legally bid on eBay that use a relatives account and don't have the means to pay. When I send a NPB alert to them an elder will generally write back "oops, my little brother bid on this. It was a mistake and I'm not paying". Naturally I reply that they shouldn't tell ANYONE what their id or password are. I explain that is costs me time and money to put these auctions up and please be more cautious. When they act like total jerks and make ME out to be the bad guy they are reported to safeharbor.
I wish the "auction fairy" would smile on me and keep these folks watching TV instead!

cherbil, I am willing to bet that the person just backed out and did not want to tell you they did not want the item. I get the same excuses as well. I don't know any of my reletives passwords to use their eBay account! Regardless, they are responsible for whoever uses their account anyway!

What I would think would be great is if eBay would allow you to setup a list of sellers whos auctions you don't want to see when you do a search. I would love to exclude those sellers who post the same 20 items every other day for 10 day auctions.

I just had one bidder with 0 fbk and she paid in a matter of minutes and was very courteous. All of my non-paying bidders have had 10+ positive feedbacks. One right now bid on two of my auctions and I haven't even been able to contact them. Auction ended 6 days ago and they have 100+ feedbacks. NPB's really piss me off! Don't bid if you don't want to pay, simple enough.

I am rather new to selling here (and bidding for that matter) so maybe I am not as objuective as I shuld be. I know my stuff will not go as high as it should because I am new. I guess I can understand that to an extent. However, I cannot understand anyone not wanting to SELL to a newbie. Not everyone has been on Ebay since the beginning! And quite apparently not all of the people who have been on all along are honest or moral people. I have only had one nonpaying bidder, with 80 something positive feedbacks who apparently died or dropped off the earth or something. 80% of my customers are newbies and quite frankly they are getting excellent deals because the old school ebayers are not bidding on my items. Any time you purchase or sell anything to anybody you are taking a chance.
