Ok, here it is.
For me to sell online through an auction site I NEED ebay. They have the traffic and therefore I must pay them.
Paypal gives me the benefit to accept credit cards without having to have a merchant account. 80% of all my buyers pay me with Paypal, therefore I NEED them to so I must pay them.
USPS delivers my items to my customers, unless I can deliver all items myself, I NEED them as well, so I must pay them to (using my customers money of course).
Now there is AW.
I have my own site, therefore I can host my own pictures. There are also plenty of FREE picture hosting services all over the web at my disposal.
As far as launching auctions, I can launch auctions manually myself or purchase bulk listing software for less than a $50 one time charge.
Post sales management can also be obtained within some of the under $50 bulk listing among several FREE services online as well.
And these message boards (AW's most valuable resource IMHO) will cease to be of any value after all the intelligent sellers leave. The MODS are getting out of hand locking all the threads and deleting posts (reminds me of a certain RED country which shall remain nameless).
So the FACT is seller's do not need AW's services - PERIOD.
Why should I pay for a service I can very easily do without?
AW, do you really think my sales would drop without your service ?
Do you really think my customers care what auction service or software I use ?
It will be nice looking at my auctions without additional banner ads that are of NO use to me what so ever.
I find this whole thing laughable !
AW had a good thing going, to bad they did not take the time to think over the consequences of their actions.
Everyone knows what happens to bad business - BANKRUPTCY !
