This will likely get locked, oh well.

For anyone selling a lot, you might consider starting your own web site domain.

There are obviously some nifty sites that will support this out there in webland.

I just took a look at this one:
$200 to set up, $35 a year (that's cheaper than some others we know about), 200meg space, supports business, lots more. You could even make money from your OWN banner ads I suppose rather than have someone else's aggravating ones in everyone's face. And don't forget as someone else said, those "storefronts" won't be free forever, the r will be deleted at some point. Why not direct bidders to very YOUR own web storefront, as allowed by eBay.

Anyway, worth looking into. Check out NoMonthlyFees with the www & com in their usual places around it.

I'm not a member or an employee!

"Geez, get a grip!"

I don't know. My post was deleted because I suggested checking out Bizland. It's free and you get 35 megs.

I don't have any stake in promoting the site. I'm just attempting to be helpful.

I have had a few website for years, I belonged to one service that has been around for a few years that gave me 10 megs of space for 4.95 a month. I switched recently because I need a server with an SSL socket to run a shopping cart. You guys don't need that. Instead of using free services and well not getting a 30 day notice etc. . . It is best on line to go with a pay service for web space. You can get all the space you need for less then 5.00 a month for pic hosting. auction pics don't take up that much room. 10 megs would hold a lOT. I just downloaded a free auction submit program and it works very nicely. I have my own space on the web that I pay for so that way I won't be at the mercy of these online service. It is something everyone might want to consider. Use software on your computer get you own web space. that will cover almost everything that AW covers. YOu won't be able to schedule ahead of time but with most of the off line auction software you can prepare the auctions ahead of time hit a submit button when you are ready and submitt them all at one time to the auction site.

Now im laughing here.

The comment maybe make money on your own banners.

I have 7 different websites I have two different banner ad companies that provide advertizeing for my websites beleave me there is no money to be made on a small website from banner ads.

many of the companys that still pay per hit on your web site are paying in the neighborhood of .05 cents per 100 hits to .10 cent per thousand hits.

Most other companys only pay for visiters from your site that click and go to there website they will pay you.05 to .10 cents per hundred or thousands hits.

The majority of the advertizers these days will only pay you if each person who vitsits your site actually clicks there banner and it leads to a sale to that person.

Now this all sounds really good a nickle or dime isnt bad really for much of nothing BUT !!! the big but.

Each company has there own terms as to how and when you get paid the majority of the companys only pay on a 6 month bases and in order to get a check your account with that company must be $50 some require you to have built up $100 before you can request a check.

Now my exspreanace with most advertizers offering banners there ad campains will run from two month to three months they only pay out on a 6 month base this means you get 3 months with there banner to earn the $50 it takes to get your money for running there ads if there campain ends and your account with them is under the $50 you get nothing you ran there ad for FREEE on your website.

Thats right most companys offer .10 for every thousand hits on there banner from your site.

IN seven years I have ran ads for over 200 companys I have had thousands of hits on my websites But I have never collected one check from any company for any ad I have ran on 7 websites.

AW Runs these casino ads on there site they might get paid good for these thing is that they will only make real money for each ad if we click the ad and register to play at the casino they will get from $10 to $50 for each person who goes there from AW and registers and plays.

the veiws on these banner with out clicking and playing is like 1 tenth of a cent per veiw.

every 10 people that come here and sees a banner they get a penny.

takes alot of pennies to make it worth your wild to run these ads companies like yahoo Ebay free market and AW can make a bit per banner but a small personel site dont stand a chance you need a site that get a million hit every three days or more.

The basic membership is free (if you don't mind a banner or popup window) on your site. It does look however like things may have changed somewhat since I signed up.

I have a web page there and one on GTE.

dman:

What you are describing sounds like LinkShare. You need to dump them and find one that pools all the commissions for you, such as ClickExchange or Commission Junction.

We make money every month on links and banners and have for many years. It pays all the hosting fees for our 30+ websites as well as the advertising to bring in 10,000 to 15,000 new visitors a month to our ecommerce sites.

The key to success is finding the right advertisers. Most people make the mistake of selecting sponsors that match the content of their website. That does not work. If you sell books, don't waste your time trying to make money with Amazon.com's affiliate program. Your customers already know who they are and probably already have them in their bookmarks. In fact, they probably went there first and couldn't find the book they wanted so they are not going to click on your banner and go back.

Look at who your customers are. Are they bargain shoppers ??? If they are, find contest and freebie sites that will pay you 5 cents a click. Are they middle class home owners ??? Find a finance company that will pay you $5.00 for every loan application. Do you sell only high-end antiques that appeal to wealthy and affluent buyers ??? Find a company that caters to these people. Travel Site ??? Luxury Items ??? Are your customers mostly Men or Women. Are they young, middle age, or seniors ??? Find sponsors that fit your customers, not the content of your site.

Ever wonder why casino ads show up mostly on Auction related sites ??? Because the users fit the profile they are looking for. Risk-takers. Gamblers. Buyers willing to take a risk sending money to a stranger. Sellers that list their items at a $1.00 and take a gamble that the site won't crash, and enough bidders will find their auction to make a profit.
