Does anyone here use ebay's own "Pictures Service" or whatever it's called to load and store photos?

I've tried on several occasions and it never works!

First off, it says you don't have to download anything, so I haven't. But no matter how much I keep clicking on what seem to be the right boxes, I get caught in an infinite loop of links. I never get anything that lets me type in a file name or browse my C drive or whatever.

For the first time in AGES I listed tonight direct on ebay, using a photo stored on a photo hosting site. What a hassle. I'd use ebay's own photo hosting if I could figure out how to get it to work!

Here's the FAQ about eBay's photo hosting:

The best place to ask questions is on the threaded Photos/HTML board - a nice fellow named Bobal is very good about walking people through things.

I also just listed my first auction through eBay since AuctionWatch and AuctionRover came on the scene. I relearning experience it was. The picture thing is easy. Right click on the picture stored in your computer and drag it into the box on the eBay page. Nothing to it...works like a charm.

Ah, the Ebay picture loops. I was there once. I was trying ot make it work how I thought it should work, instead of the Ebay way!
You would think, since you see the picture icon first, that would be the sensible way to put your pic in..not so! Just click on the picture icon once, and make sure you tell Ebay which you want to use..the free service, or the fancy smancy one. Then, without putting your picture in at that time..go ahead and pick your category. Once you pick your category, like magic, the place to put your pics comes up. Either drag your pic in to the 'free" spot, or browse and pop it in.
I do notice, however, that the picture just doesn't look as good using the Ebay ipix, as it does with AW. I'm spoiled with how nice they look now, and am struggling to find a nice, easy place to store my pics.

thanks, folks. I think I finally figured out the problem. I just went to the ebay page again and followed the instructions, then when I got the same old page as before I sat and stared at it in a stupor. In about 20 seconds I got some sort of Java applet or something that my computer was asking me to give approval to. I OK'ed it...and THEN I got the boxes where you can add your own pictures!

Guess before, I was just clicking around too fast and the Java thing didn't have time to come up.

I did my first auction late last night using Ebay's picture hosting. It went just fine and my picture looks fine also.

I just wish I had a way and setting up the auction and having it list automatically at the time I want it to. AW has spoiled me on that part, but I can get used to the other way again.

I usually am pretty good at just "going with the flow". If one doesn't work for you just find something else that does. AW is great, but.....it does not work for me anymore.
