I just tried to launch an auction and ran into the same trouble as a couple of days ago.
I sign in, fill out the sell form, hit submit, then I get some stupid error page saying that my UserID and/or password is invalid! That's impossible, since I'm already signed in before I fill out the form and the system recognizes my UserID and displays who I'm signed in as.
Last time this happened, there was supposedly some sort of problem with coding that eBay supposedly fixed, and I see nothing about this on the announcement board since then.
Anyone else try and fail to submit an auction today?
If you are using AuctionWatch.com Services to launch your auctions, would you post in the Services forum so a Customer Care Rep can assist you? You will get assistance much faster.

What makes you think I am using AW to launch my auctions? I am not! I'm trying to launch directly on site and am having this problem. So this is certainly the appropriate place to post this, thank you very much!
In my haste in scanning your post, I did not clearly read that you were not using AW Services and did want you to get assistance the fastest possible way if you were.
I did not say this was not the appropriate forum, and apologize if it looked that way.
Here are the suggestions I've seen from Support about this:
Make sure you are typing your user id and password in all lower case.
If you are using an auto fill-in utility, don't.
Try clicking on "Sign in" at the top of the page, then going to the form. (Conversely, if you have signed in, try signing out, then go to the Sell Your Item form without signing in.)
(By the way, I thought you were talking about AW also: most off-eBay sites call it 'launching' while starting an auction directly on eBay is typically referred to as 'submitting.')

Thanks, Glenda, that would seem to have been the problem. As soon as I deleted the auto-fill in and manually put the info. in, I had no trouble.
Curious thing though. I've been using this auto-fill in utility since August and this is the first time it's caused trouble. Oh well. If only all problems could be solved so easily.

One time, we had to make a frantic phone call to our ISP because my husband's password wouldn't work to log in. It turned out that one of the cats had walked across the keyboard and added a lot of spaces after his stored password. It still happens occasionally, but at least now he knows how to fix it.
