I often go to www.bibliofind.com to check on the value of a book. But for the last 2 days I'm getting the 'this page cannot be displayed' message. Maybe there is something wrong with my computer, but I haven't had this problem anywhere else. Has anyone else been able to get into bibliofind?

Try www.abebooks.com, it's up and running and is virtually the same as Bibliofind.com.

You can search using several used book search engines at:

I can't get through to them today either.

I ordered a book through one of their dealers a month ago and never heard from the seller.....sent them my cc# and everything. Luckily I was able to access bibliofind about a few days ago, and called the bookseller, who was very unprofessional and clueless, finally said they didn't think they had the book in stock. Duh. It was still showing available.

I was going to try another dealer for the book today but now the site is down. Think I'll pass on bibliofind.com and try another site.

No bashing intended here.

Hey, just wanted you to know that I can't get through to bibliofind either. This is very unusual--something must have gone wrong today. Probably will get corrected, though.

Bibliofind usually works great, fast & good search engine. I guess that one of their servers or some other hardware died on them, its been a long outage for them for sure, but we can remember the multi-day outage on this here site just a little while ago. Bibliofind would likely not have any kind of hot, warm, or even lukewarm backup system, its not the kind of site that would resort to that really. Too bad for us, but really too bad for the thousands of booksellers -- good news is the majority of them also list the same books on abebooks.com too, so just check there, it is working fine & actually has a larger client base.

A little known fact is AMAZON owns Bibliofind. They bought it a couple of years ago---but didn't change anything, just let it putter along doing it's stuff.

It got hit by a hacker a couple of weeks ago and everything got shut down---maybe it has happened again.
