This is weird. I was going through my accounts to verify what was being posted today and noticed a charge for something that didn't sound familiar. As I was going through Paypal I saw the same charge and realized I'd paid for something on eBay with my Paypal account. This is where it gets weird. The source of funds say credit card, my receipt says credit card and customer service says their computer also shows credit card.
The card I have on file is not a debit card, but a regular credit card that is in no way tied to this account.
Hope this doesn't happen often, now I'm a bit squimish to pay for larger ticket items through Paypal. I did check with the credit card company though and the charge wasn't put through on it, so I don't have to worry about recouping any money that way, luckily!

That's was so strange, and customer support was baffled by it as well! The credit card is a seperate bank, not even remotely related to the checking acount bank. How's that for twilight zone?
