After using stamps for 3 months, I got to the point that It was getting expensive...too expensive, so I signed up with clickstampsonline...

Well I'm all registered and everything but when it come to putting my initial deposit in for stamps, it never works...tried about 50 times and says failure to communicate,...refill denied or something along that line.

I have a cable modem and have never had trouble with stamps.com...

Any suggestions?

Tried calling CS but they went home early due to the storm.

Have you entered the activation code yet? That is usually the problem, cuz it won't let you do anything without it.

Let me give you the best advice first, DON'T USE IT. Needless to say I am a mad ex-user.

I used it with a cable modem also and did not have many problems until I upgraded to their 2.0 version of software. I wrote them about the exact same error. Here is the reply from them:

Normally the 'Begin and End tags missing' error is either a
communication problem with your computer and our server or simply an
Activation Key issue. However, if it were an Activation Key issue you
would see this error every time you try to refill or print postage.

Not much help to me either.

By the way hope you never make a mistake or their software never make a mistake and postage does not print. it is no refundable. I had an $18.50 sheet of labels print (had several priority on it) and there was an error, nothing printed. Their software gave me an error. I used the proper forms and turned it in like I should have. Well I ended up turning in several and out fo the blue one day I got an e-mail that said one had been accepted and they would credit my account.

I replied, first time I have ever got an e-mail from you about this, what is the status of all the others. Reply they were not accepted cause you didi not have proof you printed postage. Oh man was I P!$$ed. I had did their reports on line and showed where duplicate postage had been printed right in a row cause of the error and all. Even included a printout of the error. Sorry, only if you have printed postage which smeared, printed on wrong paper or something will you get your 90% refund for mistakes.

I will be glad to talk to anyone about this cause I was a great supporter at one time till this came up.

I've never gotten it to work, either... I get the same error codes. Did you disable any anti-virus programs you have? They suggested this was probably the problem. I tried it, it still didn't work.

I have been getting the same error message. ClickStamps said I need to call to have a new activation code sent to me and if that doesn't work I have to re-install the software.

I tried a few times to open an account. Their system tells me that I don't exist!

My address does not exist.
My street does not exist.
My box no. does not exist.

I have been here for a long time, but I guess since I don't exist, I can't have an account with them!

I am sure they will have canned responses and want each of you to contact them again but I invited them to this thread to see the problems people are having.

Looks like your the exception and not the rule amoung this group.

I had good luck with it most of the time untill I got stiffed a total of $40.00 as my message explained above.

I think it could be a great program and it is a good price $1.49 a month is what I was paying but too many problems.

If they would give me my $40.00 back I would still be using them. I printed over $1,000.00 in postage in 2.5 months. I even have 2 boxes of labels left to use with it.

I didn't have any problems downloading the software, entering my code and putting some postage on my account. Everything as fine ... until it asked me to print out the 3 test envelopes and I noticed that the Zip Code on the meter is a PO I don't use!! I NEVER go there due to rude employees, long lines, etc. However this is the PO of my physical address. I'm trying to get it changed but can't and haven't heard from their CS people for 3 days since posting a request. I think I will call up today and cancel my account since I can't use it.

I wondered about the refunds policy and I can see a problem if the postage did not show up on the label of getting a refund.

Oh well, back to dealing with PO people again.

FYI, unless you are mailing a large volume of mail at a time, you can use any post office. I rarely ever use the one shown in the meter and have never had a problem.

I asked the PB people about the zip code thing and they told me that the mail HAS to be sent from the PO indicated in the meter on the mail. I know a lot of people are not doing that and are mailing wherever, but when I had my actual postal meter we never could mail anywhere but the post office where the meter was licensed and this is the same as an actual postal meter. I also checked it out with the post office and they told me the same thing - mail must be deposited within the zip code shown on the postal imprint.

Ok... I signed up just fine no problems and I can log on, BUT I don't like that they only have a few label size options to pick from. I am use to printing on 2" x 4" labels and they do not support this size label with their software. They seem to accept the 6 labels per page type, But I find it odd that the address and postage is printed on the same label, where do you stick this label on packages? (since postage is suppose to go in the top right corner and the address is suppose to be in the lower center of the package.)

I find this frustrating, do they plan to support more label sizes in the future?

Any help or suggestions you can give will be appreciated...

Thanks...

I may have to cancel my account and stay with stamps.com
