The following news item appeared today in an online newsletter from Krause Publications, the largest publisher of collector magazines.
>>AuctionWatch introducing listing fees
Add AuctionWatch to the growing list of online auction sites asking customers to fork over some cash for its services.
Beginning March 14, AuctionWatch will offer two pricing plans. The first is a "Standard Plan" with a listing fee of 5 cents per auction launched and a 1 percent final value fee for each closed auction (capped at a maximum of $30 per item). The second is a "Power Plan" for high volume sellers that has an annual subscription of $200, a listing fee of 5 cents per auction launched, but no final value fee.
"We understand any fee, regardless of its size, represents a tangible cost for your business," AuctionWatch co-founders Mark Dodd and Rodrigo Sales said in making the announcement on its Web site. "Our services also offer significant related benefits for your selling activity. Our auction management services, including our recently launched Post Sale Express, enable faster listing creation, simplified sales monitoring, and faster invoicing saving the typical seller hours each week.
"This savings results in lower costs and higher profits to you, our customers. We will continue to invest in new services that make your selling easier and increase your sales while enhancing our reliability and customer service for all services." <<
I wish AW would explain to me where the lower costs are going to factor in since they are asking me for a per-listing fee and the choice of a 1% FVV or a $200/mo. flat fee. Sounds like lower profits to me, not lower costs.
Would you please post in one of the threads started by Cbarker. The article you are discussing is about AW fees and since this is the Ebay Outlook we are limiting the threads about AuctionWatch.com to those started by Service.
I will lock this thread now and appreciate your cooperation,
