Does anyone know why whenever you re-list an auction the photo drops off if it was hosted on IPIX? And what do you do about it? If we can no longer afford to host pic's here, how do you go about re-listing an auction with an IPIX hosted pic?

If you relist the item on eBay, the picture shouldn't drop off. If you relist it using, for example, vrane.com's Power Relister, it'll go away.

I have observed that sometimes it appears to the seller that a picture isn't showing up, but when somebody else goes to look at the auction, it's there. Why that is, I dunno.

I know that nobody asked my opinion, but I can't help myself!

From my (buyer's) perspective, Ipix is just horrible! Unless there's an option to "supersize" the photo, all you see is a smallish picture with no detail. Even if the seller's description is good, the photo gives a buyer very little to go on. If you're selling something like a new book, where a detailed photo isn't important, then I suppose Ipix is okay, but if you're selling a collectible or an item of clothing ... blech.

Again, sorry for my mini-rant, but more and more sellers seem to be using Ipix these days, and it's driving me up the wall.

Rachel ....... I agree 100%. IPIX pics stink.
I've passed up numerous auctions because the seller was using IPIX.

There is an option to "supersize" the picture, and guess what! It costs EXTRA!

eBay compresses the picture waaaaaay down, and the quality suffers. They are aware of this and don't care.

I don't particularly love IPIX either, but running out of "free" options!

No offense, but myitem.com is the WORST.
When I land on one of those annoying auctions I hit the back button.

A few people have mentioned Zing as being a good alternative. [free]

You don't have to use MSN as your ISP to set up a Photo Album there. It has to be set up as Public in order for the pictures to show up in your auctions.

I don't use MSN, but did set up one auction a while back just to see if it worked.
