What with all those casino adverts, maybe it will be a little like Vegas here. Ya put your nickle in & hope for the best!

Seeing as the last thread was locked.

Blacklabel

Interesting comments. I understand where you're coming from, but, what happens if one day these sites that offer these services become a dot.gone, like many of the other online sites that have gone under in the pasy year?

You will suddenly find out that you've been using a crutch all this time, when in fact, you really didn't need one.

You can easily learn HTML for online auctions in a few hours, or less. You can learn FTP in the same amount of time, or much less, depending on which FTP program you use.

None of this is rocket science, and even if you do use a site like AW it's alwasy a VERY good idea to know how to do the basics yourself.

I taught myself the basics from the get go, back before sites like AW even existed. For the past 4 years I've depended on these FREE services to host my pics, but I also knew that one day the word FREE would turn into FEE.

So here we are today.

You state you sold 75K last year, well done!

Ok, so $200 a year doesn't sound too bad considering you can use all the various services from a site like AW. But have you forgotton about the 5 cents a listing as well?

Do you list 100 items a month, 200, 500?
Do you ever re-list items - once, twice, three times?

It all adds up in the end, and you can tag those fees onto your $200 bill as well.

The $200 yearly fee wasn't the end of the world to me, I make more than enough to cover that fee.

I simply decided that I would no longer be held captive by another site & their services, and/or their constantly revolving door of TOS.

I'm free, and it's not only MUCH cheaper, it also feels damn good.

Everyone,

One more time with feeling:

Please post your comments concerning the new fees in one of the threads started by Mark or Chris. Multiple threads on the same topic tend to dominate the forum.

Locking this one up now.

Pat
