I know that I once read on this message board how to remove the musty smell from books. I've got a great collection of Snoopy books, but they were stored in a basement and smell awful!! I tried placing them in plastic with charcoal but they still stink. Remedies, anyone?

One way I know of would be to put the book in a large box that you have a tight fit lid for the book must be open in the boxes then put a dryer sheet in with the book seal it up leave it for a few days.

I have tried putting books into a box with cedar chips ( like you use for a guinea pig) or baking soda but the only thing that actually worked for me was the carpet stuff~ it has a mix of baking soda and some kind of perfume~ you sprinkle on a carpet to make the carpet smell nice and clean! but I sprinkle on the books, put in a box or bag and then very carefully vaccumm off the carpet stuff!after about 5 days~ seem to work . All other solutions the smell of musty ordor came back after a few days. I then put in the auction that the book smells like perfume or flowers which it does incase anyone has allergies to perfume! Better perfume than musty ordor!
