I'm ready to sell my personal collection of cassette tapes since I've replaced my most-prized titles with CDs.
Is it permissible to sell cassette tapes on Half.com? They seem to only welcome CDs, but I've noticed some sellers make a notation in the item description.
Is this ok? Or, is it specifically against their policy? Anyone else selling tapes? Do they sell well there?

I sell some on half.com, but I don't know the answer to your question. However, what I would do is search for some of the specific tapes you have, and see if they are popping up there. I'm sure others will have even wiser advice for you here. Good luck.

I sell on half.com. As far as I know you can only sell books and CDs right now. It's done through inputting the ISBN number from books and the UPC number from CDs. So I don't think there is any way to list cassettes.

Half.com's data base, even for books, isn't really up-to-speed. I've noticed, and done it myself, that when you have a paperback of a book that's only listed as a hardback, or a different edition (in my case I often have a newer one than what they have listed), the seller just makes a major note of the difference in the description.
I suspect that KatNap wants to do the same.
I'm not sure that you would find many interested buyers who are looking for CD's and will buy cassette instead.
It doesn't cost anything to experiment, but, since it does violate the rules of Half.com, if they receive complaints (likely from other sellers) you mind find yourself kicked off.

I can't believe there is much of a market for cassette tapes these days.
But if you try to list cassettes on half.com, you'll soon get a buyer who doesn't read the comments and will be royally ticked off at getting a tape when he or she expected a CD.
