Hello,
I have my site hosted by WebIntellects.com I've had it hosted there since September. I have 25 megabites of space and it costs on $9.99 a month, unlimited traffic. They have other price levels. I've never had it go down like I did when I have a free website. I only called for help once when I couldn't figure out the settings for ftp for Blackthorne. I registered my domain name from easyspace it was 2 years for $28.00.

FATCOW...definitely...I went there after a tip on this board...liked what I saw, signed up and have been very happy with it. Great price, great support and a good tutorial to get you started. It comes with a lot of add ons. I believe several of the regular posters also signed up for it. Check it out!

I use Virsite.com. They host my domain (Gratefuldad.com) and 100Mb space and superior, personal support for about $8/mo. Only down once during the past year, very reliable. I would recommend them.

I haven't signed up with Fatcow yet but am seriously considering it. I haven't found any other host that comes even close to the value they offer!

Has anyone opened a site there yet? Would you mind posting the URL?

One more question - are they owned by Tucows? I seem to remember seeing references to Tucows somewhere on the site.

I have a site up with them 0_o

www.bluee.net

Not much is there, as you can see by the index.htm file. I can't wait to start working on the bad boy.

I believe that reddeer has reddeer.net.

No, every permutation of reddeer was taken.
I used my wife's first name .com Good thing she has an unusual name. Nothing there except my auction pics at the moment.

I've been looking too. Found hypermart.net to be pretty quick. Free with ads. Reasonable without ads.

Also found ehost.com. Lots of online storage for your auction images:

250 MB Disk Space
5 Gb Monthly Data Transfer
5 Email Accounts (POP/Web)
50 Email Aliases
FrontPageŽ Support
$0 Setup, $12.95 per month
2 months minimum

Joanne, have a site with them for several weeks now.....http://quillwork.net/ ......., I am very happy with them. A great deal for the dollar. Between the excellent tutorial and the fast tech support...I haven't found anything I don't like. I had been wanting to learn ftp anyway and after signing up, learned it in two minutes..(can't believe I ever thought it was going to be hard)..Eventually I will close out my other website and have just the fatcow. AND, there is plenty of room to store my auction pics. I just went back to using Mr Lister, and ftp my pics to my fatcow site. ITS QUICKER THAN WHAT I USED TO DO....unbelievable.

After playing around with free services and getting stuck with service changes and annoying pop up banners, I finally decided a year ago to spring the enormous sum of $10 a month for the full package which includes my own domain name, unlimited email ids I can forward to anywhere I want and 50 megs of space. It also included the great support of someone who helped me set up the html and javascript on my site. I have since referred other folks to him and they have all thanked me for it. He has deals with different hosting companies depending on what you need. If you want details, just email and I'll be happy to respond. Or you can email him yourself: [email protected].

I set up a site with Hyperlink.com. It seems great, but I have a question?

The banner thing....I am using the free site. I have not seen any banners. Where are they? All I have on there are my photos. Hopefully the banners only show up on web pages? I don't understand.

I LOVE your website! You do some GREAT work! I sell numerous "period" Native items, and almost cry every time I box one of them to ship off. While browsing your site I kept wondering why the background music seemed so familar to me, well DUH, it's one of my all time favourite movies! I just watched it [for the third time] a few weeks back.

Thanks for sharing!

I can certainly see why you would get attached to your items, the love of your work shows. A few months back I sold a late 19th century beaded Mohawk dress collar to a collector in MI. He told me he takes part in re-enactments with some friends in OH. I had no idea that re-enactments were so popular, and never imagined one of my items would be used today, as it was over 100 years ago.

I'd love nothing more than to keep every piece I find, but unless we win the lottery, the chances of that are slim to none.

Thanks again for sharing your site!

Neil

Reddeer...Re-Enactments are indeed very popular and getting very large........I have found that most of my work goes to them or collectors. I , myself, am a re-enactor and its incredible to be able to enjoy history in that way. I would love to have an original someday, but like you, its gotta be a lottery.....and we both know what the odds of that are. <g> When you get your webpage up with your stuff, do let me know...or email me off mine and let me know your ebay sellers page. I have probably been there and did not know it as I am always cruising those categories looking for that special item I can afford for my collection....... Pam
