I just received my first email alerting me that someone paid using bidpay -- it informed me that a second email would be coming shortly and the it would be safe to ship merchandise --- that was three days ago -- how long does it normally take?
Do I need to go the bidpay website for any reason to "accept" the payment?
What did I miss?
p.s. raise your hand if you *LOVE* that the buyer is paying the $5 bones instead of YOU for paypal! [bouncing smile]

Normally when you get that second email you can ship. However recently some problems have been reported with bidpay. Most of them have to do with not receiving the email (I had this happen to me last week) but a few have also been sellers reporting that they never received the money order. So I would suggest that you wait for it.

IF you dont receive that second email DO NOT send the Goods .
There is no reason to go to bid pay to collect and anything BUt if you do go sign up with bid pay it will you will have an area to take when your money orders are sent out and be sure that the buyer isnt sending you phony bidpay notices .
again with out the second notice comfirming the buyer shipping address dont send the item till you see the money order . http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

I have had 3 or 4 payments by Bidpay from International customers. I received the message alerting me that I would have money coming and that I could go ahead and ship. (I didn't) In two or three days I received a Western Union money order in the mail and then I shipped the item. It has been perfectly satisfactory for me.

Bidpay's been great for me so far. I've recieved many payments that way, Internationals with bidpay are a breeze and faster than most US sales.
The first notice is just telling you that a buyer INTENDS to pay with Bidpay, and the notice clearly states not to ship until the second verification notice is recieved.
In the meantime Bidpay is making sure everything is ok with the buyers account and that THEY will get money and fee's from the buyer.
In some cases the buyer may have some problem with their credit card or something and Bidpay will not go through with the transaction. That is why you must at least wait for the 2nd email before you ship.
That being said, there have been reports of con artists forging Bidpay notices to get items shipped to them without paying. This happens in some form with most epayment services I think. That is why it is most practical to never ship until you have the payment in hand.
Bidpay is no more immune to having regular mail lost than we are. So you may wish to register with them and have your payments put right into your account, which makes it faster yet.
I prefer being unregistered though, and recieve the money orders at absolutely no cost to my business.
The only way to keep your fair share of the profits from your sales is to do everything you can for yourself. Let all these blood sucking sattelite company's either get their heads out of the clouds and come up price structures that are more comensurate to what they deserve or let them fall back to Earth and vaporize,

My first experience with Bidpay was as a buyer. I purchased from a Canadian seller, I am from the U.S. Bidpay mailed the payment to the seller, WITHOUT the additional postage required for Canadian mail (I COULDN"T BELIEVE IT). Luckily the seller was very nice about the whole thing. It took almost 3 weeks for her to get her money order. She did not ship it until she received the money order & I did not expect her to ship it until she received it.
As a seller, if I say you can pay with a Money Order or BidPay - I WILL NOT ship it until I have the Money Order in hand - I don't care what BidPay says - it is not like Paypal where the funds are in your account. BidPay is merely a service for buyers who don't want to go to the Bank to get a Money Order and then mail it. I don't believe any Seller should send a package until they have the Money Order.
A friend of mine had a customer from Egypt purchase a sofa through BidPay. My friend received the "okay to ship" notice from BidPay. In the meantime, her buyer was making arrangements to have the item shipped (a mess in of itself with transporting a large item to Egypt). Luckily that was a mess, because a week or so after my friend received the aforementioned notice, she received another notice from BidPay that the buyer's payment did not go through. Another example of why you wait until you receive the actual money order.
