I have read alot about email spamming. Please don't come down on me for this. My girl friend told me she got a email from a person she has won a auction from in the past. It stated that this person now had their own web site and was inviting her to visit. Now this person got my friends email from a closed auction of ebay, which I understand to be spamming. I guess my question is to all those people who are not happy with all these fees, and now AW is charging us. If you are wanting or have already aquired your own web page to try to avoid all these fees by AW & Ebay, are you going to contact old customers and let them know where you are? Some people would not want to be contacted and others would not mind. I was just reading threads and was just wondering how that would go over, not sure what I am going to do yet. I am a small time kids clothing seller right now and can not really afford to continue paying all these fees.
Just wondered if you had purchased something for someone(one item or many items) would you mind getting a email from that person letting you know where their web page was?
Just curious!!!

Are you alos leaving Ebay? Unless you are leaving Ebay, you will still be the same user on Ebay, you can just host your own photos, and nothing about your auctions has to change. So you will not be going anywhere.
If you are leaving Ebay, you may want to post it on your "ME" page so that if you have no auctions running anymore they can still find you.
Personally, I would not want to get an e-mail from someone I bought from only once or twice. (I don't even want to think that they still have my information!) If there are some customers who buy from you on a regular basis, sure go ahead.

I personnally don't know if I am leaving Ebay or not, at least not for now. But I do need to make a decent income for my 3 little ones. So I am checking out all my alternatives, if I start selling certain items on a regular basis I may go to my own web page, maybe not.
The ME page is a good idea, just wonder how much traffic they really get. Still would be a good place to put any announcements.
Just thought this was a interesting thought. Thanks for all opinions, Maybe some people haven't thought of this happening to them. I personnally would not get upset, unless I was being harrassed in my emails. One ok, otherwise I would probably feel uneasy.

Evidently some people read the about ME page. I received a email from an unknown that said I was reading your about ME page and I would like to you visit the auction of Mary (not her real name) as she has some very fine widgets you might be interested in.
And also one from someone who knew me and my user name. So I guess it can work in both ways. I deleted the 1st one right away and never did visit that page. I think if you do it right you can put in your description about your web page but you can't link it.
At least that is what I think after I have done research on it but again my word isn't law. Have a good day.
