I had a buyer buy a book I was selling on February 16. Buyer has a perfect feedback of around 40. I have sent a Billpoint notice at his request when the auction closed. After not hearing from him for 10 days I e-mailed him and asked if he got the invoice. There was no response, so after a couple more days, I filed an NPB with Ebay. I quickly received an email stating that a money order had been mailed on 2/20/01 and if I didn't receive it in a few more days to e-mail him back. No payment arrived so I e-mailed him and he asked for another Billpoint invoice. Today my e-mail contained a note from him confirming receipt of the invoice, but no payment has been made. Additionally today I received a letter from the guy which included a printed copy of my EOA with a return address label attached stating, "send to." There was a second handwritten note in the envelope stating: "Hi! This is a F/U payment. Please advise if 1st check arrives. (2/20/01) Thanks! XXXXXX" (Note the F/U could be F/O - his handwriting seems hurried.) Anybody ever have this happen before? I get the feeling I'm being set up for a neg. Any ideas?

F/U = Follow Up

I use that on all my notes of things I have to do - I realize it looks like something totally different, but it just means Follow Up.

Thanks! I'll breathe easier now ( and drive my paranoia back into its cage.)

No problem - I didn't realize how it looked either until my husband saw one of my notes and asked why I wrote FU on it. I told him it meant Follow Up, but then I looked at it and I certainly understand why someone could misunderstand it.
