We listed an item the evening of the 8th. On the morning of the 9th I realized that we could have used a much better keyword in the title and changed it, before any bids. It's been nearly 48 hours since the change and it still shows with the "wrong" key word.
I know ebay has had some troubles with key word search updates, but this long?

There was another thread about this. If the revise wasn't done before the first indexing, it doesn't update at all.
It was reported in Tagnotes a long time ago and it looks like ebay still hasn't fixed it.

You might want to read message 272 of the thread titled "Title and Description Database: The Status of the Apparatus" on eBay's Search Board.

Well that stinks. I had high hopes for this item and now I can't get the right word in the title unless I stop and restart.
Thanks for the replies and explanation. I'll know better next time.

Wow, That exacte same thing happened to me. I realized that I forgot the keyword Lionel, and the car stands at only 1/5 of its value and is ending in 3 hours. Check it out. Search Lionel 0780, nothing. Search 0780, and it is there. Open teh auction, and you can see that the title was revised (over 5 days ago.
