I had an auction for a previewed video out of my collection. It brought $5.00 and the person had sent my a check. I don't hold checks as I had never had a problem. This person e-mailed after they had received the video saying it was not as I had described it it had some bad places at the beginning in the middle and at the end, which I don't remember it being like that, but its possible I guess. But I always make the customer happy,so I refunded $5.00 because I didn't want to deal with paying shipping back to me.So in the mean time I get notified from the bank that her check is bad.I think I got had this trip. This sucks as everyone I've ever sold to was very honest.I guess I just have extremely good luck most of the time.

This is why stores (and hopefully you from now on) won't refund a check with cash until after the check has cleared.

My first suggestion is find the item # from that auction file a alert with ebay asap. with reason being check bounced. In 11 days you can file for final fees. It will put a note in her file that bidder sent you a bad check 3 others off ebay they go. It is bad that it takes 4 sellers to get some one off ebay for a bad check.

I am sorry that you are out $5.00. (plus bank fees?)
Did you email the customer?
Happyday21 and dubyasdaman, also have good suggestions.
Honest customers are willing to pay the bank fees and the amount of the bounced check. (as it was an honest mistake)
I hope your customer will do what is right. If not, you could try this : www.madagency.com
Best Wishes!!
