I know you used to be able to put your webpage in your ebay auction, but I just wanted to check to see if you still can. I couldn't find it on the eBay site. And I'm afraid to do it and get my auction cancelled.

Thanks for the info - I think it is still a bit nebulous, that is, who has a web site that only shows one item, and that is what one of the eBay statement seems to infer. Guess most of us will still have to be careful, and just wing it.

For me, it's gotten to the point where it wasn't worth the hassles of trying to keeping up w/the latest stone tablets handed down by the ebay PTB.

I took my link out of my auctions but include it in my EOA notice.

Maybe not as much traffic as before but I don't have to worry when ebay is going to decide my current effort to meet their ever changing rules isn't good enough.

I'm not sure about a website address (never had the urge to create a web page), but I do know from personal experience that if you include a pointer to your personal email address in your description, they can end your auctions and send you a warning for offering to sell similar items without giving them some graft. I think this decision depends on which one of the SafeHarbour drones happens to see your listing.

Well I have been turning in many people and ebay said they were all ok. People had links to ecommerce web sites with tons of stuff to sell and ebay is not going to spend time looking to see if they have the same item for cheaper. Ebay really needs to make their site a more level playing ground. People who are willing to break the rules get to make more money. Ebay will only stop current auctions and give a warning. I have truned people in several times and Ebay does nothing but end their auction refund their money.

RB,

Are you saying if I include a line in my description which says, "If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]" that ebay will end my auctions?

Or that if you include a line saying, "To purchase more of these, email me at [email protected]", they will end your auction?

ecomputeremporium,

I suggest you read the link I provided earlier regarding having a website link in your auction. It IS perfectly permissible to have one provided you meet the ebay guidelines.

Do you check out each one of these links to see if the items they are selling on ebay are less on their site?
