Three times this month I have sent items off with delivery confirmation and when the buyer reported not getting the item I checked the USPS site tracking only to find that it HAS been delivered but to the wrong address.
The latest was to go to OR 97918 and was delivered to San Diego 92122. I did not send anything to that zip that day so it could not be amatter of switched labels. What the heck is going on? This never used to be a problem. I will NOT insure. The process to collect when you insure is too time consuming unless it is a couple thousand bucks. I would stop using the postal system and go commercial first. Can the post office be sued? Have any of you ever tried it?

Our local PO has just gone "high tech", so to speak, by adding computers, scanners, ect. It was suppose to speed things up and take out "human error".
The human error may be deminished, but they seem to have glitches in the system.
I have an item that WAS delivered very quickly over a month ago and is still showing as "enroute to it's destination"!
I insured a package for over $50, so I got the blue sticker (which can also be tracked) AND DC BOTH. The DC showed the item was accepted in my town for delivery and the date it was delivered.
The INSURANCE sticker shows it was "accepted in Greenville, NC 27834 for shipment AND it is still enroute! I live in TX!!!!!
The PO doesn't give refunds on these glitches either. I have tried. I argued I paid for a service I obviously didn't get. They countered with...."Well, your package did arrive didn't it?"
Good thing too, I would hate to have to prove I didn't DRIVE to NC to insure my package and then DRIVE back to TX to mail it!
