DON'T USE STAMPS.COM!!!!! Thier Customer Service STINKS! I have had several dollars of postage just not print for some reason lately. The first time I called they said they would credit me for the postage, but that would be the only time. I still didn't get that credit, its been well over a month, and the system has since "eaten" several more dollars of postage on me.
THANKS for the reminder that I need to go and cancel!

Stamps.com works very well. There are problems with every service you could use, that is why every service seems to be bashed.
You have to determine what advice you are going to listen to: if it was up to this forum, between chargebacks, stop-payments on mo, and bounced checks, ALL you would accept as payment for auctions is cash. But what if it was counterfeit? Nothings perfect.
It is very hard to screw up. You need to A - Disregard the instructions on the label sheet and B - Disregard the instructions on the print postage screen. FInally, you need to not print a sample like stamps.com exists. It is very hard to screw up one time, much less several!

Thanks for the info, I have heard of Stamps.com, but I do remember something about a service which only charges a small much smaller fee than stamps.com, but I can not remember their name. Does anyone know???Thanks Fluffy

There's Pitney something. I signed up for their service, was supposed to receive a free postage scale. Never received anything from them. Now I can't remember the name!!! Anyone have a link?
I am quitting stamps.com since their price increase, and because their customer service sucks IMO. I don't feel like I should have to pay for a long distance call to talk to a CSR when I need to, just because I'm not on the "Power Plan".

Well I went back and started looking at threads from the last 100 days, and I found it, it is Pitney Bowes Stampsonline, they only charge $1.49 a month. Thanks Anyways. Fluffy
You are SOOOO right, one does have to determine what advice they're going to listen to. The advice of someone who feels the need to rant about the people of this forum and their complaints when asked for advice, or someone who has offered genuine advice after having poor experiences with a company.
My first complaint with this company is with its customer service department. Like someone else mentioned, I don't like having to call a long distance toll number every time I need technical assistance. ESPECIALLY when I spend several minutes on hold each time I call.
And, you are wrong when you say:
"It is very hard to screw up. You need to A -Disregard the instructions on the label sheet and B - Disregard the instructions on the print postage screen. FInally, you need to not print a sample like stamps.com exists. It is very hard to screw up one time, much less several!"
I did follow all of the directions. I am not new to Stamps.com. I did use them for several months with no problems. However, recently I have begun to have problems. It IS NOT caused by user error. Sometimes the program will go through the entire print process without sending the postage to my printer. The amount is deducted from my account, but never printed. OR, I've also had a message pop up when I tried to print that said something like "currently logging on, please try again later". Whenever this happens, the postage is also deducted from my account, but nothing is printed.
Since you're an expert, perhaps you can tell me what I'm doing wrong?????

"danilynn71"...sounds to me like you need to plug your printer in just kidding...seriously though..sounds like the problem is definately on your end..but could be anything...such as a bad printer cable, but if you print in other programs it wouldn't be that...maybe a corrupt driver/program file..have you tried to uninstall the software and then install the software? Just trying to help.
"fluffy2966"...listen to "AZGAmer"..I personally have used Stamps.com for several months with no problems, absolutely none!...Sure I have had to submit a request for credit, because I screwed up(put the labels in backwards), not the software program...I sent the PROPER CREDIT FORM to them and they credited my account quickly...contrary to what "danilynn71" says...you do not make a phone call and they credit your account..no wonder they never received the credit...you mail the credit form along with the botched label or customer info and the amount you tried to print to customer service...they then credit you account...never had any problems..
As far as price goes...it is all a business decision...for me, I send approx. 50-60 packages out a week...I print my stamps online in a fraction of the time it would take at the Post Office, let alone standing in line for 45 minutes just to get to the counter...printing stamps online now allows me to drive around to the back of the Post Office building and drop them off on the loading dock...it sure is funny when you are in and out in 2 minutes with a dozen packages and the vehicle traffic is lined clear out to the highway of people still waiting to park...sure, you still have to take the Insured, International, and Delivery Confirmation packages inside, but I have that problem tackled too..without waiting in line.
I see it this way, there are pros and cons with any service...some people are just never to be satisfied..EVER...they can complain about Customer service, misprints, etc. but I am telling you this service has worked flawlessly for me.

Well in regards to stamps.com, that is what I have used in the past, I submitted a credit form printed from the site way back in the beginning of the winter, and I still have not been credited. And I sent all the proof I had and explained that it was the first time I had printed any postage and my printer kept miss feeding. I haven't even gotten a email or letter stating that I am not entitled to a credit or anything. So I just wanted to try someone else. I know not everyone has good luck with the same sites. Thanks Fluffy

ilist4u, Thanks, I do truly appreciate your input. Yes, it is possible that the problem is on my end. It could be my printer. It could be a software glitch (although I doubt a glitch would surface after over 8 months of using the service without any problems). I found it very odd that, after logging in, I would get an error message telling me that I was "logging in" and to try again later, While my account was being debited.
As for your scepticism of my getting a credit after a phone call. As I explained, nothing was printed. Nothing at all. So I had nothing to submit to them to prove I deserved a credit. I suppose that is why they have their "one mistake" rule. They agreed to give me one credit for my problem. Unless I could PROVE further problems they would not assist me in the future.
As a side note. I print at least a dozen things daily from the internet. I have NEVER had a problem like the one I received from Stamps.com.

Is there any other computer program you downloaded or installed around the time you started having the Stamps.com printing problem? If so, there could be some conflict between the two programs that's causing nothing to print. The conflicting program could even be running in the background.
It's postal regulations that Stamps.com has to have the spoiled postage in hand in order to refund. Otherwise, they can't prove to the postal system that the postage was spoiled.

Right on Ebay for me. I often purchase large lots of unused US postage stamps for 85-90% of face value. I realize this won't work for everyone, but being a stamp collector as well as a seller, it works out great for me.
No that wasn't it. I spent quite a while on the phone with their Customer Support. He had me shut down absolutely every other program other than the program that runs my printer and Stamps.com. The problem still came and went. The only other suggestion he offered was that I possibly had too many browser windows open. I usually leave one browser window open with my email and another open with Auctionwatch while I'm printing postage, so that I can just copy and paste addresses from my email and from my WBNs directly to Stamps.com.
