Anyone out there with knowledge of a shipper who will take oversize single items without the huge cost that UPS,FEDEX and US Postal charge. The carriers website only allow within a certer overall size to ship and I occasionally have one that just doesn't make it. Shipping with a large carrier becomes to expensive. I have a package weighing 20 lbs but to big for fedex and ups.etc. They want 4$258 for something thats only worth $50 crazy. HELP IF YOU HAVE AN ANSWER

You didn't mention the actual size of the item, but I use Greyhound for items that are too big for UPS or FedExpress. Of course, there are some limitations on size, but perhaps your package could fit in.
Go to their website www.greyhound.com and look for the link to Package Express - there are two size requirements - your package dimensions must fall into either one of them and weigh less than $100. The only problem with Greyhound is some areas have a limit of $300 insurance. If the item needs to be insured for more, you can always use WebInsure at www.webinsure.com
