Whenever I need to revise an eBay listing, I cannot use AOL or Microsoft Explorer to revise it. After waiting extremely long for the "Update Item Information" page to fully load, and after I have changed the auction page information and clicked on the "verify" link, all I get is either a basically blank eBay page with revealed code splattered on it or a severely truncated page that does not display the "submit" link at the bottom that will allow me to actually confirm the auction listing change! It has been so frustrating. This has been going on for about 6 months, and I always write to eBay asking them what is going on AND telling them straight off that it is not caused by my cache because I always keep it cleaned out. Yet, how does eBay respond? With a stupid form e-mail talking about clearing cache!!! Please, someone help me. This happened with Windows 95 and now with Windows 98. (AOL and the newest version of MIE will not allow me to revise eBay listings successfully; only Netscape allows me to do this from beginning to end, but Netscape shows the darn auction description information all in one continuous line that makes it extremely difficult to revise, as you can imagine.)

if it's one continous line copy and paste it into your favorite word processor, edit it and copy and paste it back in. note do not use notepad since it might still show you one continuous line.

and stop using lame browsers like ie.

I know Exactly how frustrated you are! Why dosen't Ebay do something? It SURE as heck never happens when you are going to BID on an auction (thank goodness!) or any of the countless other features on Ebay....Why this one thing!

Do you remember when it used to be that when you would go to list or relist and had to use the back button for some reason and the Entire page would become CLEAR? Ebay also said "Clean your cache" BULL!!

I Seriously think that when they fixed the first problem, they created the new one.

It is VERY frustrating. Some people do not have 30 Min. to go "Back" and "Submit" 45 times!

Actually try to compress your ad description. I used to have this problem all the time and ebay wrote me and told me to reduce the size of the ad descrition. You can remove all cr/lf's and wasted spaces. it's worked for me!

I don't think that's the problem SonyRadio.

Mine are never in one line and it happens every time!

How in the world do you get another, Un-Lame Browser? I thought Netscape was lame.

I use Netscape V 4.76 and don't ever have problems revising my listings. I never had problems with the earlier versions either.
Not skyline8 on eBay.

I primarily use IE & was having the same problems trying to do edits or relists.

Now when I need to do them, I switch over to Netscape & the problem in 99% resolved.

Try doing them in NS & see if it makes a difference.

If not, clear your cache.

If Netscape doesn't solve the problem for you, here's how you can work around the problem and still use Explorer. When you are about to click on the page that inevitably comes up blank or weird or whatever, just minimize that window and do something else for at least 2 minutes (I usually wait 3, but have found that 2 minutes is usually sufficient). Maximize the window again, click away and the page should load properly. This is what I do when I want to list, relist or revise and I don't feel like hearing my hard disk cache endlessly because of Netscape. Of course, this assumes you have something else to do meanwhile - like read these boards!

Did you list the auctions you can revise thru AuctionWatch? I have no problem revising as long as I don't list thru AuctionWatch. Try removing the HTML codes and just having the plain description, that's the only thing that works if it's an AW lisiting. It was very frustrating I'm sure.

Good Luck.

I was having the same problem too, and read on these boards that it was an eBay interface problem with Internet Explorer. I never got around to downloading Netscape (slow dial-up modem due to rural phone lines). Then an amazing thing happened--I started experimenting with launching my auctions through different sites. Since then, I have had no problems at all revising my auctions.

had the same problems, if you hit the submit button, ditto happens hit your back button then hit submit again, if your lucky and do this for up to 10 cycles the revise may submit. If not come back and try again, some other time what a pain. Now if you don't list thru AW, you will not have any problems revising a listing,as I found out,
